Art Journal - We Found Love - ArTsY MoNdAy

Hi friends

Happy Monday! I have a new artsy Monday project for you too today. This art journal page is inspired by the two characters on the magazine page I used to collage as background on this page.
I used my old Chinese magazines and I saw two Characters says Love, and it instantly gave me the ideas of what I want to do on this project.

I re-discovered some product in my stash too this time, and I decided that for every artsy Monday project, I will keep re-discovering the product in my stash. Over the years I have "hoarded" many things. Sometimes after a product is being used couple times, I will just tucked them back in the corner. Since art journal is really meant to be playful and a place to do whatever you want, I want to shop in my neglected stash and play with fun techniques.

Check out my video for product used. I listed them in the description box.

Autumn / Fall Art Journal - ArTsY MoNdAy

Hi friends

Fall has officially Arrived! Everything is now turning into the gorgeous fall color. Who doesn't like those gorgeous golden leaves. So I decided to make an art journal about it.

I made a video tutorial on how I made it and you will see a lot of covering the previous layer I put down. Don't feel bad about covering what you have put down. It's all part of the creating process. This journal is not planned at all so I just went with the creative juice and change my mind as I go alone. I also listed what I used in the video description box :)

The leaves on the journal are cut outs from stamped images. Those leaf stamps have been in my stash since the day one but I rarely use them. You know how sometimes you just have something you don't use a whole lot and you forget it even exists? Thats how it is with the leaf stamps. So I re-discovered it in my stash and they are perfect for my fall theme art journal. The photos are taken with my iPhone. Not the most beautiful project photo but my camera died and I was in a hurry. My phone is my last resort. Hope these photos are good enough, lol!

Layered Bloom Girl

Hi friends :)

I want to share a pin spin project for Prima. Don't forget to check out Prima's blog to see other amazing inspirations too!

This Pin is what inspired me to do this project. I LOVE the amazing watercolor techniques and just everything about it. Bloom Girl stamps are simply gorgeous, so I wanted to make a project that really shows the beauty of them. I layered two Bloom stamp images, Peyton and Goldie, together and they turned out so beautiful.

For the two little birds, I actually paper pieced on there. It's not that obvious from photos but when you look at it in person it really gives it that extra dimension.

Because I love things shimmery, I dusted on a layer of mica powders to their corresponding colors. You can see from the last photo how shimmery it is.

Abstract Art Journal Painting - ArTsY MoNdAy

Hi friends

Today I am sharing this abstract art journal page. Scroll down for video tutorial because I explained everything in there. Also I listed the product in the video description box too. :)

I used the combination of acrylics and watercolor to create this art journal page. What I didn't mention in the video is that my inspiration is actually the cloud at sunset. I know it doesn't look like it but that's what got me to create this piece.

Anyways, I really hope you enjoy it.

"Mask On" Mixed Media Canvas

Hi friends!

Today I am on ScrapFX's blog bringing you these two very different styled projects.
I haven't been playing with whimsical themed projects for a while. When I saw the newly released masks chipboard from ScrapFX, it just hit me instantly that I need to do something whimsical with those. So I used my Prima Relics, applied some "makeup", then just put the masks on them.

There are many fun and useful techniques I used on this canvas, feel free to check out the video tutorial. Every technique I used is shown in there.

This card is too cute don't you agree? I put the little crown on the teddy bear and it looks perfect! All the chipboard are embossed with white embossing powder first, then colored with alcohol inks.

DIY PARTY PROJECT IDEAS

Hi Crafters!!

Do you love DIY projects?? I LOVE them!! So today on Prima's blog. We are showing you some fun DIY party project ideas. Make sure you check out the Prima blog for even more DIY inspirations.

For this DIY project. I create several small things.
First, I created back drapes and a banner. Of course I made them in a smaller scale but feel free to make as big as long as you want :)
Second, I created some cute cupcake toppers using Prima's flowers. Yes, you heard it right, Prima's flowers make the cutest cupcake toppers!
Then I created candy holders, which will also be perfect for Halloween!
Last but not least, don't forget to make some party invitation cards. Since these cards need to be mass produced, I made them quite simple but still pretty at the same time.

Scroll down to see the tutorial.

ScrapFX Tri Color Scrapbook Layout

Hi friends!

This month ScrapFX and Flying Unicorn are on CSI as sponsors :) Don't forget to check out the fun challenges!!

I created this layout using beautiful ScrapFX chippies. I got inspired by the sketch from the challenge and decided to go for a tri color look. It almost looks like a color block look but has softer blended edge. On this layout, I played with some fun techniques like making my own transparencies washi tape. The video tutorial will show every fun technique :).
