Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout: Lessons_OUAS January DT Layout

Hi Crafters!!!

I am soooo excited!! This is my FIRST DT project for Once Upon A Sketch!!! yayy!!! It's such a BIG honor to be on this amazing team will all the talented ladies :))

Okay, back to the "serious" business. I created this layout for the January Sketch and the theme is Lesson Learnt. This layout is very inspired by the one and only FINNABAIR. I have seen many of her layouts and I just love every each on of them. The one thing I am inspired by her in this layout is how she embellish her layouts. So I added my twist to my inspiration and here is my layout, lol.

Here is my project share video and I will go in to more details in the video:)

As you can see in this layout, I am very focused on the texture of the layout and the background. By texture, I don't only mean the raised texture like what I did with texture paste. I also mean all the stamping, patterns achieved using color mists and stencil (I used some Lindy's Stamp Gang's flat fabio and startburst), doodling, etc. The background paper is a Prima Ledger Paper Pad. The original color is quite bright but I love the ledger look. So I went over the background with a white wash. So you can still see some of the ledger prints but the bright yellow background is a lot muted.

Every piece of embellishment is treated by using gesso, texture paste, color mists, or pearl pens. Alter your embellishments can give a greater depth to the layout :)

My journaling is written around the cluster of embellishment.

I did some doodling and stamping between the two clusters. So there are something to connect your them together and guide your eyes from one cluster to another.

Hope you like this layout. I will see you in my next post:)

Sketchabilities DT Projec: Sketch #106

Hi Crafters :))

Here is my DT layout for Sketchabilities Sketch 106. This sketch is just GREAT!!! I am able to really let my creativity fly on this layout.
The way I curl the paper is that I first wet the edge of the paper first, and then I just wrinkle the edges and dry it with a heat tool to set the wrinkles in place.
Then I just tucked in some laces between the folds and layers of paper to add more interest.
I am really into tear paper lately although it is not too popular anymore, lol.

I have a start-to-finish video on this layout if you want to check it out :))

Altered Christmas Window-SaCrafters DT Project

Hi Crafters :)

This is my recent SaCrafters DT project. It is an altered Christmas window. I used Graphic 45 Twelve days of Christmas paper collection on this project. This will be a gift for grandma, so that's why on the lamp post, you see "grandma" written on it. You will see the product list at the end of this post.
For the base of the window, after I painted it green, I used white paint to adhere tissue paper and also used my palette knife to create some texture. I used a lot of texture paste on the window too make it look snowy. I put a big clock at the back and I adhered two clock needles to it. I LOVE the floating clock needles look, lol.

Anyways, this project is not hard to do and in the video, you will see what I did to each embellishment.

Tag Album and Altered Mini Run Way Stage--Discount Paper Crafts DT Project

Hi Crafters :)

Here is my Discount Paper Crafts DT Project :)) I had sooooo much fun creating them!!! I built a little house that is actually a run way stage. If you take a closer look, you will see I built a T-shape stage there. I cut out some girls from the fabulous Graphic 45 Couture Collection to put on the stage. So it looks like there is a fashion show going on.

The tag album is totally inspired by Anne from Xannero1 on Youtube and Annes Papercreations on blogger.

I did a ton of fussy cutting on these two projects. Because graphic 45 papers are just fussy cut heaven!!! You don't need too much other supplies. The paper collection provided embellishments and papers at the same time.

Here is the start-to-finish video on the altered mini run way and the project share on the tag album.

Sketchabilities DT Project: Sketch #105

Hi Crafters :))
This is my DT project for Sketchabilities sketch #105, I really enjoyed making this layout. Since Christmas is coming, I thought maybe I can do a Christmas layout. I have a start-to-finish video on this video if you want to check it out :))
For this layout, I want to make a winter theme. So I made many icicles out of snow effect paint and hot blue. I used my white gel pen to draw snow flakes and puddle of snow too. I cut out circles in various shape to represent Christmas tree ornaments and of course I cut some three Christmas trees too.
I really love how it turned out and I think I really achieved the winter look :)))
Thank you for looking <3

Sketchabilities DT Project: Sketch #104

Hi Crafters :)))

Today I am sharing a DT project I created for Sketchabilities sketch #104. As you can see, my layout is quite different from the sketch. It is because I got too inspired and carried away.. haha. So instead of the horizontal paper strips in the sketch, I placed my paper strips vertically. I used a lot of faber castell gelatos on this layout. Because their vibrant colors are just too beautiful to resist, lol. I did some doodling in this layout as well :)))
Check out the start-to-finish video on this layout, which will be more clear than I explain what I did.
