Sketchabilities DT Project-Sketch#108

Hi Crafters :)

Here is my last design team project for Sketchabilities. Before I start on my project, I just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to the owner of Sketchabilities: Karan. Karan took me on as a part of her team when I just started out and when I don't even have any subscribers or followers on my channel and blog. This is FIRST EVER design team I have been on and it is been so fun!!! Sketchabilities really helped me grow and thank you Karan for being there from the beginning. I really don't want to leave this amazing team, I thought a thousand times about re-apply it. But because of my schedule is getting tight, I don't really have a choice :(((

Now, let me get to the layout I made. Of course, like always, I have a start-to-finish video made for this layout. I used a TON of Shimmerz product on this layout and I LOVE IT! I did a lot of stamping in the background, because I feel like making a messy layout when I started it. I made the stencil I used for the big pink chevron pattern and the stencil I used for the smaller blue chevron pattern is made by SaCrafters. I used Spritz and Vibez to mist the background.

One of the products of Shimmerz is Shimmerz paint. In the Shimmerz paint pot,  there is super shimmery and creamy paint. I used Shimmerz paint on the chipboard piece and the metal loop and metal key on this layout.

I layered some scrap paper and cheese cloth behind my photo. Then I did some doodling. At last, I used chalk ink to color the edges.
This layout is quite easy to do and I hope it gives you guys an idea on what to do with Shimmerz's Spritz, Vibez, and Shimmerz paint.

Mixed Media Shabby Chic Altered Book End_The Piece By Piece DT Project

Hi Crafters :)

I am so exciting to share with you guys my first The Piece By Piece project! This is also my SWAP item with Violet (48scrappin on youtube). I had sooo much fun creating it and I think the shabby chic look turns out great.

I used many trims and gem sprays from the piece by piece. The easy way to use all the candy gem and wheat sprays from TPBP is to tuck them into your flower cluster. By doing this, you can see how they just brings in everything together and give a nice visual flow on my project.

Many trims you can get in TPBP are very versatile to use. By that I mean you not only can use them as the way it is, but also can cut them apart and use it as applique. For example, for the leaf trim I have from the TPBP, I cut it into individual leaves and used them on my proejct.

Here is the start-to-finish video and you will see the whole creating process if this book end :)

Mixed Media Altered Tag: Art Heals_SaCrafters DT

Hi Crafters :)

I am super happy to share with you guys the tag I did for SaCrafters Zibbet Store. Why am I happy? Because I LOVE how it turned out. This tag is for sale in my Etsy Shop :)

When I am making this tag, I am imagining a little garden with beautiful and colorful flowers in the middle of a dark forest. And this is totally what I did to this tag. I made the background really dark with some green to represent the dark environment of the dark forest. If you take a closer look, you will see some white color blended in with the dark color in the background. The white color represents moon light and stars you see at night in the forest.

And of course, the bird cage and flowers resembles the garden. I felt extremely soothing and relaxing when I am making this. So I gave this tag the name "art tag".

Here is the start-to-finish video:

Sketchabilities DT Project: Sketch #107

Hi Crafters :)

This is my DT layout for Sketchabilities Sketch 107. I love simple sketch like this, because I can interpret it in many different ways. This is a very mixed media style layout. I used a circle stencil in the background and I outlined some circles using watercolor pencils in different colors. Then I just wet my brush and go over the watercolor pencil lines to activate the watercolor.
I used lindy's industrial chic on this project, and I just LOVE this set. I did a lot of stamping in the background too to give it more texture. This style of this layout is very similar to my last Sketchabilities DT project. Because I love how my last one turned out and I have to use some techniques I used in that one.
Anyways, I hope you like it and I have a start-to-finish video on this layout if you want to check out.
Thanks for looking :))

Mixed Media Canvas_SaCrafters Bonus DT Project

Hi Crafters

Here is my mixed media canvas I made for SaCrafters. I used metal filigrees, art tile, mesh netting and stencil from the store. I am all about texture when it comes to a mixed media canvas, so I used extra heavy matt gel medium to create the chevron pattern. Then I applied some texture pastes and I used my comb run through the texture paste to create texture. I also adhered down some mesh netting from SaCrafters Store to add different types of texture. At last, I mixed some coarse sand with white acrylic paint to create some coarse texture.

I have a start-to-finish video on how to create the background and please check it out :)

Thank you for looking :)

Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout: Lessons_OUAS January DT Layout

Hi Crafters!!!

I am soooo excited!! This is my FIRST DT project for Once Upon A Sketch!!! yayy!!! It's such a BIG honor to be on this amazing team will all the talented ladies :))

Okay, back to the "serious" business. I created this layout for the January Sketch and the theme is Lesson Learnt. This layout is very inspired by the one and only FINNABAIR. I have seen many of her layouts and I just love every each on of them. The one thing I am inspired by her in this layout is how she embellish her layouts. So I added my twist to my inspiration and here is my layout, lol.

Here is my project share video and I will go in to more details in the video:)

As you can see in this layout, I am very focused on the texture of the layout and the background. By texture, I don't only mean the raised texture like what I did with texture paste. I also mean all the stamping, patterns achieved using color mists and stencil (I used some Lindy's Stamp Gang's flat fabio and startburst), doodling, etc. The background paper is a Prima Ledger Paper Pad. The original color is quite bright but I love the ledger look. So I went over the background with a white wash. So you can still see some of the ledger prints but the bright yellow background is a lot muted.

Every piece of embellishment is treated by using gesso, texture paste, color mists, or pearl pens. Alter your embellishments can give a greater depth to the layout :)

My journaling is written around the cluster of embellishment.

I did some doodling and stamping between the two clusters. So there are something to connect your them together and guide your eyes from one cluster to another.

Hope you like this layout. I will see you in my next post:)

Sketchabilities DT Projec: Sketch #106

Hi Crafters :))

Here is my DT layout for Sketchabilities Sketch 106. This sketch is just GREAT!!! I am able to really let my creativity fly on this layout.
The way I curl the paper is that I first wet the edge of the paper first, and then I just wrinkle the edges and dry it with a heat tool to set the wrinkles in place.
Then I just tucked in some laces between the folds and layers of paper to add more interest.
I am really into tear paper lately although it is not too popular anymore, lol.

I have a start-to-finish video on this layout if you want to check it out :))
